The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematics and Statistics of Complex Systems (MASCOS) (www.complex.org.au) has the following research themes

  • Critical Phenomena
  • Monte Carlo Methods
  • Dynamical Systems
  • Risk Modelling
  • Optimization
  • Scientific Computation
  • Statistical Modelling of Complex Systems
  • Modelling and Control of Complex Systems
There are thirteen Chief Investigators in the Centre of Excellence. The CIs at UNSW are Professor Tony Dooley in Pure Mathematics,
Dr Gary Froyland in optimization, Professor Colin Rogers in the area of Dynamical Systems and Professor Ian Sloan in the area of Monte Carlo Methods. Innovative collaborative projects in the above theme areas are positively encouraged and contact should be made with the appropriate CI in this connection
