Overview The School of Mathematics and Statistics Computing Centre exists to aid the Staff and Students of the School to use the computing resources of the school to full potential. To this end all staff, visitors and postgraduate students are provided with a desktop machine that is under 4 years old. Staff machines are predominantly Linux with a significant minority of machines also running Windows 2000 via dual boot functionality. Apart from desktop computers, the school has an extensive collection of computing infrastructure which allows a wide variety of computing services to be provided to staff. Staff are actively encouraged to use the the computing resources of the school for research and teaching. Full details on the resources available to staff can be found on this web site (via the links on the left) or by speaking to the Computing Centre who are more than happy to help you. The primary means of communicating with the Computing Centre is via the Computing Centre Helpdesk which can direct your request or query to the appropriate person if they are unable to answer it fully themselves. |
