Mathematical skills represent a way of thinking and are highly flexible. They lead to careers that are exciting, challenging and extremely diverse in nature. Furthermore, long gone are the days of the single career from graduation to retirement. More than half the workforce changes jobs within six years [source: Australian Bureau of Statistics]. Mathematical skills are ideally suited for a modern career.

Mathematicians and Statisticians have particularly good job prospects:

  • Mathematicians, Statisticians and Actuaries are among the group with the lowest unemployment rates.
