School of Mathematics and Statistics Home Page

The School of Mathematics and Statistics has more than 60 academic staff, including many research and postdoctoral fellows. The School consists of three departments: Applied Mathematics (including the Climate and Environmental Dynamics Laboratory), Pure Mathematics and Statistics. Our research presence includes many seminars and visiting academics, and we teach approximately 2,500 students annually.

Statistics Major now has professional accreditation
The Statistics Major within the Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) program has been awarded professional accreditation by the Statistical Society of Australia Incorporated. Students who graduate from this degree program with a Statistics Major will, on joining the Statistical Society of Australia, be automatically entitled to accreditation as a Graduate Statistician.
