Australian Centre for Commercial Mathematics

The Australian Centre for Commercial Mathematics (ACCM) is an applied research centre at the UNSW School of Mathematics and Statistics. Our focus is to identify, investigate and solve complex industry and commercial problems and to stimulate new areas of research based on real world problems.

The ACCM provides consultation and innovative problem solving using advanced mathematics and statistics generally not available in the commercial consulting sector. Clients of the ACCM represent a range of industry sectors that are increasingly reliant on outsourced expertise in mathematics and statistics to practically address an array of company and industry specific problems.

Projects managed by the ACCM benefit from the full range of UNSW’s resources and expertise, as well as our engagement with colleagues and research centres around the world. The ACCM has its own full-time staff working on complex industry projects and we are able to draw on the expertise of over 100 academics in mathematics, statistics and computer science within the University.

Clients include NSW Roads Maritime Services (RMS), VicRoads, Australian Nuclear Sciences and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), and Mine Subsidence Engineering Consultancy (MSEC).
