Analysis Seminar: Zoltan Balogh Speaker: Zoltan Balogh (Universitaet Bern and UNSW) Title: Hausdorff measures, characteristic sets and iterated function systems in the Heisenberg group Abstract: The problem of comparison between Hausdorff measures and dimension in terms of the Euclidean and the Carnot-Caratheodory metric will be considered in the simplest setting of the first Heisenberg group. The solution of this problem leads naturally to the notion of horizontal fractals defined as invariant sets of iterated function systems on the Heisenberg group. Place: Red Centre, room 4082. Date: 8 November. Time: 12:00 -- 13:00 |
