New BSc (Advanced Mathematics) degree

For top HSC students (UAI about 95+), UNSW offers a new specialist degree in Advanced Mathematics, beginning in 2008.
(Update 18/1/08: The published UAI is 92 (for Commonwealth-supported places).
There are still places available.

The degree allows students to specialise in mathematics and statistics, opening up a wide range of careers.

Majors in the degree are Applied Maths, Pure Maths, Statistics and Quantitative Risk

Students will enrol in first year in either MATH1141 or MATH1151, for which there are assumed knowledge requirements. Students will be expected to maintain a distinction average to stay in the Advanced Mathematics program (if not, they may transfer to a BSc program majoring in mathematics).
