Research

The School of Mathematics and Statistics provides vigorous research programs and generous scholarships leading to MSc and PhD degrees. To find out more about doing an MSc or PhD with us see our Graduate Information page.

The research interests of the Pure Mathematics Department span a wide range. The largest research group is concerned with modern analysis and its applications. The research of the department may be broken down into several groups as follows.

The Pure Mathematics Department attracts a high level of research funding. The Department is regularly successful in attracting external funding through bodies such as the Australian Research Council (ARC). For information about recent ARC grants, see our ARC information page.

Some members of the Department of Pure Mathematics are involved with the ARC Centre of Excellence in the Mathematics and Statistics of Complex Systems. For further details see our MASCOS information page.
