Centre of Excellence for Mathematics and Statistics of Complex Systems

MASCOS full logo
The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematics and Statistics of Complex Systems (MASCOS) (www.complex.org.au) has the following research themes

  • Risk Modelling
  • Critical Phenomena
  • Dynamical Systems
  • Complex Networks
Professor Ian Sloan of UNSW is Deputy Director.

There are fourteen Chief Investigators in the Centre of Excellence. The CIs at UNSW are Professor Tony Dooley in pure mathematics, Professor Matt England in oceanographic dynamical systems,
Associate Professor Gary Froyland in dynamical systems and optimization, and Professor Ian Sloan in the area of Monte Carlo Methods. Innovative collaborative projects in the above theme areas are positively encouraged and contact should be made with the appropriate CI in this connection
