Computing Information

General Information

The School of Mathematics and Statistics has one of the largest collections of computing facilities on campus. We have 2 Undergraduate Student Laboratories, containing a network of approximately 150 personal computers (PCs).

The School's laboratories are in rooms G012 and M020 of the Red Centre. Room M020 is through the glass door (and along the corridor) opposite the Mathematics entrance to the Red Centre. Room G012 is down the stairs from the main entrance.

For further details see the Computing Facilities page.

Opening Times

Both of the School's laboratories are open from 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday during teaching session, unless they are being used for other purposes (for example if they are booked for classes or being used or set up for computer based tests). The smaller mezzanine lab M020 is opened at 8am and will usually remain open until 9pm.

All labs are closed over the weekend.

Outside the teaching session, lab M020 is the only lab available and it is open from 8am to 9pm.

On public holidays and when the University is closed (e.g. over the Christmas/New Year period), all labs will be closed.
