Procedures for Dealing with Grievances

For information about disputes over marks see the School's Assessment Policy page.

Occasionally, contentious issues arise between a student and one of their lecturers or tutors or the School itself. Where possible, these should be amicably resolved by the student and the staff member, in consultation.

If this is not possible, the student or staff member is free to approach the Director of First Year, the appropriate Head of Department, the Head of School, or the School's designated Grievance officer Milan Pahor, office RC-3091.

If the problem remains unresolved, the student or staff member may approach the Registrar.

At all levels, confidentiality is maintained to the maximum extent possible, consistent with the necessity of ascertaining the truth.

For more information see the official University policy and procedures on grievances.
