What to do if you Suffer Illness or Misadventure If you have a problem like illness or some misfortune, it is important that you let your tutors or lecturers know that something is wrong, even if you do not want to give all the details. Allowances may then be made for your circumstances. If you miss a test or exam or cannot submit an assignment due to the circumstances, then you have to follow the standard School Policy on Illness and Misadventure. This is summarised below. If the problem is very serious, you may want to consider deferring your studies for a while. Talk to your program coordinator, the Director of First Year phone: (02) 9385 7011, room Red Centre 3072, or Director of Undergraduate Studies phone: (02) 9385 7060, room Red Centre 5103 about this. The UNSW Counselling service is also there if you want to talk to someone independent. Summary of the illness and misadventure procedures Here will be inserted a summary in a flow-chart style of the procedures students should follow based on the official School policy. |
