GENS2006 The New Testament Greek

GENS2006 is a General Education course which is available to all students at UNSW. This course will provide an introduction to the language known as Koine Greek, in which the New Testament was written. It will cover some of the basic grammar and vocabulary of the language. By the end of the course, we will be reading some select passages from John's gospel. The course will also address basic grammatical ideas and structures common to all Indo-European languages.

Exclusions:

Cycle of offering: Semester 1

Graduate attributes: Students taking this course will learn the basics of Greek grammar and syntax and be able to read and appreciate short passages of Greek taken directly from the New Testamant.

This course will provide a firm basis for further study in the language.
