Programs in Mathematics and Statistics Mathematics and Statistics can be studied as a major in a variety of ways, is compulsory in many programs and can be taken as an elective in many programs. Note that it is not possible to swap between degree programs once you have been offered a place at UNSW without re-applying, so it is important that you choose the correct program initially.
