Formal Descriptions of Second Year Mathematics Courses


Mathematics and Statistics Level II Courses

Students doing a Mathematics or Statistics major must take MATH2060 Professional Issues and Ethics in Mathematics unless the professional education requirement is being met in the other discipline of a double major or combined degree. They are encouraged to take MATH2060 in their second year of study.

Note on *, ** and *** courses above

The courses marked * are servicing courses for some Engineering and Science programs. Most are only available to students for whom they are specifically required as part of their program. They are not available to any student taking a Mathematics or Statistics major.

The courses marked ** are available in 2007 for Materials Science and Engineering students only and will not be taught from 2008.

The course marked *** is available for students in the Science program who wish to take no more than 6 units of credit in Level II Statistics. It is not available to any student taking a mathematics or statistics major.
