Why UNSW? The University of New South Wales is recognized as one of the top Universities in the Australian and South East Asian region. The Times Higher Education Supplement's 2004 survey placed UNSW in 36th place in the world overall, based on a range of criteria relevant to research (story). In 2002, the ISI, the publishers of the citation indexes, ranked UNSW mathematics number 14 in the world, based on citation impact (story). As the largest School of Mathematics in Australia, UNSW Mathematics offers a complete range of courses in mathematics at all levels. The School has access to first class facilities in a modern building with computing facilities that are among the best in Australia. It manages its own computing centre and it incorporates numerical and symbolic computing across its teaching and research activities.
