Simon Marais competition expression of interest

The Simon Marais Mathematics Competition is a mathematics competition for undergraduate university students.  It began in 2017 and is modelled on the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition.

In 2019 the competition will take place on Saturday 12th October.

Applications are now open.  To enter, please do the following:

  • Print the application form: (not available yet)
  • Hand your form to the School of Mathematics and Statististics office on level 3 of the Red-Centre.
  • The deadline for entries is TBA.
  • If you haven't already done so, please also fill out the expression of interest below.

The information below refers to the 2018 competition and will be updated for 2019 soon.

The competition website has details of the prizes offered but in addition, the School of Mathematics and Statistics will award prizes to the best performance by UNSW competitors.  Three $1000 prizes will be offered for the best female, best male and best pair performances.  In the case of a tie, the relevant prize pool will be shared.
