Over 60 people attended the 3rd Workshop on High-Dimensional Approximation at the UNSW School of Mathematics & Statistics from 16–20 February 2009. More than 40 contributed talks were held over five days.

The two previous workshops were held at the Australian National University. They were originally organised to have a productive collaboration amongst the research groups of Markus Hegland and Ian Sloan. Since the interest in this topic is steadily growing, the workshop is enlarging its horizons as well.
