Work Experience with UNSW Mathematics & Statistics

will be trialling a work experience pilot program for the period of 30 November to 4 December 2015 and are currently collecting expressions of interest from students in Years 10 or 11 who are enrolled in an Australian secondary school.

Successful applicants will spend a week at UNSW Kensington campus, and have the opportunity to experience a variety of activities across the broad range of disciplines in Science. Students will spend one of the days with the School of Mathematics and Statistics, getting an insight into the life of a mathematician, learning about maths careers, and getting a taste of maths and stats research and teaching via fun and engaging activities.
Applications are due by Sunday 8 November. All successful applicants will be notified on Monday 16 November, 2015. Up to 20 places will be made available in this pilot round. 
Our work experience program aims to give students the opportunity to:
  • Gain insight and experience into the faculty’s everyday work, which involves a diverse array of Sciences 
  • Gain relevant work experience and/or skills
  • Explore their career and study interests
