Finite Field Metric Geometry (FFMG) is browser-based dynamic geometry software for making geometric investigations over Finite Fields, the Rationals and certain extension fields. Once a field, a geometry type and a symmetric bilinear form are selected, then theorems can be demonstrated and investigations undertaken. This talk will demonstrate the principles behind the software and demonstrate some of the current capabilities.
This will also constitute the initial internal release of the software, (within UNSW), with the public release scheduled for early next year. You may want to bring your own device to follow along.
This talk should be understandable by undergraduates who know a little basic linear algebra and geometry, and they are encouraged to attend.
