The Mathematics Drop-in Centre* is a teaching and learning project of the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
It is a drop-in centre service for all first courses (excluding MATH1041) and second year maths course students currently studying at UNSW in MATH2018 / MATH2019.
Support for MATH1041 will be found in the "announcements section" in Moodle from week 2 providing a Staff Consultation Roster specifically for enrolled students.
NB: *Note this service was formerly known as the Student Support Scheme.
The Mathematics Drop-in Centre provides free one-on-one tutoring for students.
There's no need to register, just drop-in!
The Centre will be open from:
Monday to Thursday 10am to 3pm
Friday 10am to 1pm
The Centre is location on level 3 in the Red Centre, room RC-3064 (centre wing).
All tutors are mathematics students at UNSW (in third year or higher) and are required to meet certain criteria before being allowed to become tutors.
If you want to become a tutor, you should apply to Nathan Jackson (email@example.com) for more information.
Please note that applicants who hold a Doctorate are not able to apply.
There are many topics from school mathematics which we do not teach in first year classes, but which we assume that you know. The worksheets on the Revision Worksheets page are designed to help students learn topics which they may not be coping with.
